With nine out of the 15 locations, Greece and Portugal dominate “European Best Destinations” list of Coronavirus – Safest destinations to visit in 2021.

As of the publishing date of this post, the travel website dedicated to promoting tourism in the continent selected 15 COVID safe destinations. Greece leads the list with five selections, followed by Portugal with four.

EBB explains the selection and omission process, “We have selected destinations in which hospitals have never been overcrowded, destinations that have experienced fewer cases of covid-19 and are also less likely to impose a curfew or restrictions during your stay. For practical reasons, we have selected destinations that have not imposed a quarantine: some safe destinations such as the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway or Finland do not appear in this ranking for this very reason despite experiencing low cases of covid-19.”

Below is the EBD list of open destinations that remained safer during these last months.

Greece

The Greek government has been a leading player in identifying a vaccination passport and developing precise guidelines for safe stays in Europe. With four times fewer Covid-19 deaths than some European countries, the country is one of the safest destinations in Europe. The island of Corfu, along with the Portuguese islands of Madeira and Azores, is one of the EBD paradise destinations in Europe.
